Give Yourself a Break.

I am going to vote against the rise in council tax, why? Because I can.
If I were a Lib Dem or Conservative, my wishes, your wishes would not be taken into account.
I want to shout about the way our rubbish is being collected. Because I can.
Vote me as your Councillor, I will do more that shout, I will do more than Vote. I will ask the questions, others are too scared to ask.

Don’t re-elect Councillors they are very experienced at dodging the issue, ignoring phone calls and feathering their own nests.

I am not going to litter your doormat with expensive and wasteful leaflets. Because I can’t afford to. I am not going to knock on your door, pretend to be your friend for ten minutes and promise to make changes that benefit world peace, global warming and in my spare time to cure the NHS, its not going to happen.

For example;
What’s the point of overcrowding an area with supposedly affordable housing? Housing is going to be affordable, when there is proper employment with a reasonable average wage. Lib Democrats have the idea of forcing house prices down. Sorry but you’re not going to ruin my pension. Just like the Conservatives did to my Dad

I want to action on things that matter to people who live in Rialton and
North Newquay.
Ensure that jobs are available from the airport, local work for local people.
Proper parking in St Columb Minor. A definite NO, to parking fees.
Protect the green areas around St Columb and Porth, make sure that the liberty takers in Restormel Borough Council do not ruin our beaches and sell off our open spaces.
Ensure the County Council mend the roads and clear the vegetation from the gutters, so our heavily taxed homes are not flooded because the drains are blocked. (For the fourth year running)
Ensure that. Contractors who work for Restormel Borough Council on our behalf, do not reduce our services because they under estimated the original costs and are not making as much profit as they thought they should be.

A coastal town like Newquay is often isolated during the winter periods and relies on its tourist economy in the summer which rewards few residents. There is a desperate shortage of work and housing at any price however unlike most seaside towns Newquay does have the room to develop, even with in its existing boundaries, There are people of vision who realise that the towns hotel resources is now dwindling and profit margins shrinking and are taking step toward developing a second generation bucket and spade resort. The old guard not happy about this change, no one like changes after all, but they have had their time and their profit. Regeneration plans have been made and those with money and foresight are ready to put the international rubber stamp on Newquay.

Unfortunately, it appears that hands are tied in the county and local planning office. In a politically controlled council the ruling party will make no effort to undermine its electoral strong hold. In Newquays, case, the Lib Dems, control the voting whip. This depressed town suits the Lib Dems, The membership gets windy very quickly and lacks courage and will shirk responsibility, and the prime example is the intellectual ability and moral ethics of their candidates for the Town and Borough Council. There is a reluctance to go forward when faced with a venture.

Make a Change; don’t re-elect Councillors, you have witnessed their ignorance and the way they have behaved.
